The College of Hotel and Tourism Management of Kyung Hee University is ranked as the No. 1 in the hospitality and tourism field in Korea (35th in the world) in the 2020 QS World University Academic Evaluation, regarding as a world-class university. In order to lead the rapidly changing era with the paradigm shift of human, data, and technology, STEP is trying to open a new field with an education platform that encompasses both the existing tourism and hospitality industries as well as research fields.
The STEP aims to establish the academic identity in the field of tourism and hospitality management as well as the philosophical existence of smart tourism to develop it into an applied discipline. For both the future mission and the value of a happy human life, the STEP will do its best to fulfill its genuine role as a leading university.
The goal of STEP is to cultivate outstanding human resources who can contribute to problem solving of smart tourism through the realization of systematic, in-depth professional education, and global-level research for the development of ICT in the tourism and hospitality filed. In particular, in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain are incorporated into the field of tourism to realize future education by applying integrated comprehensive multidisciplinary curriculum and to foster academic and practical innovative human resources for smart tourism. Through this, it can contribute to the academic and industrial development of world-class smart tourism.
