How has Technology Supported Learning and Teaching in China During COVID-19?

The sudden outbreak of the COVID-19 has a serious impact on all aspects of university operation especially the teaching and learning. The outbreak of the epidemic has forced all academic staff to seek for effective and technical ways to carry out teaching and

learning. The COVID-19 also provides an opportunity for teachers to explore and adopt MOOCS, SPOCS and other online teaching tools and techniques in their teaching and learning. Professor Qiu will share with the audience about her expereinces in dealing with the challeges and opportunities she has faced as a senior adminstrator, a teacher, and a supporter.

Professor Hanqin Qiu is Distinguished Professor and Dean of the College of Tourism and Service Management of Nankai University. She received her BA from Nankai University in Mainland China, her MA from University of Waterloo in Canada, and her PhD from University of Strathclyde in UK. Her research interests are tourism studies, tourist behaviour, and China hotel and tourism development and policy issues. She has published more than 80 refereed journal articles in major international journals (e.g. International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Travel Research, Tourism Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management and Journal of Vacation marketing) and presented about 60 research papers at international conferences. She is a regular speaker in leading international conferences.
